New PowerSearch Upgrades Go Live This Week

Aug. 13, 2007 -- If you’ve never used Thomson Gale’s PowerSearch platform to access information in the Discus collection, be sure to check it out soon.  It’s even better than ever following a host of upgrades that go live this week.

PowerSearch allows you to cross-search most of the Thomson Gale databases in a single query, either by subject, keyword or full text.  It also allows you to conduct publication searches, as well as other types of advanced searches.

The new upgrades include:

  • the ability to search within a results list;
  • an improved "How to Cite" functionality;
  • a "Did You Mean?" feature that offers spelling options and other suggestions; and
  • a tab configuration that lets you select the order of the display.

Check out the new features.  Also, go to the training tab on this Web site for details about some brief online training events highlighting the new PowerSearch features, as well as for information on other Discus training opportunities.
